CATÁLOGO COLECCIÓN CENTRO BOTÍN

La adquisición por parte de la Fundación Botín de la mayoría de las obras que aquí se exponen se inicia a comienzos del siglo XXI. La selección incluye obra de maestros contemporáneos pero también de jóvenes artistas en proceso de convertirse -o convertidos ya- en figuras clave de su generación.
La muestra aspira a ofrecer una perspectiva del actual estado de la práctica artística desde el punto de vista de la forma y del contenido, así como a repasar la evolución de las formas artísticas clásicas, el despliegue de nuevas narrativas y la forma en la que los artistas contemporáneos abordan un contexto cultural conformado por factores locales y globales.

The acquisition by Botín Foundation of most of the works that are exhibited here begins at the beginning of the 21st century. The selection includes the work of contemporary masters but also of young artists in the process of becoming -or converted- into key figures of their generation.
The exhibition aims to offer a perspective of the current state of artistic practice from the point of view of form and content, as well as review the evolution of classical artistic forms, the deployment of new narratives and the way in which artists contemporaries address a cultural context shaped by local and global factors.
